Rhythm Section release party with Hidden Spheres, Bradley Zero and more

We’ve got a new release coming out (RS012), and its by Manchester’s Hidden Spheres. We thought it would make sense to celebrate the occasion with an instore party at Eastern Bloc, with our finest selectors.

We will be bringing down (up) with us the latest represses, some back catalogue entries, new merch, and a heap of RS012. Free entry so no excuse not to see you there!

Hashman Deejay & Contours take over the Pool Hall

Hashman Deejay aka Tanner Matt, doesn’t just have one of the best DJ names (along with Bluntman Deejay), but has tunes and mad skills in the booth to match. If you haven’t yet witnessed one of his sets (esp at the pool hall!) you are in for a journey that will lift the spirit and bring you one step closer to transcendence.

A core member of the Moodhut family, hailing from Vancouver, BC – he released an LP back in 2014 on Max D’s Future Times label, his accomplished productions should not be underestimated and his work with Aquarian Foundation is testament to his wide reaching taste and more so appetite for groove and harmony.

Whilst Bradley Zero ventures the Australian outback upon a kangaroo (on a full AU tour), we have Cumbrian percussionist, disc jockey and Rhythm Section INTL signee Contours to bring a tour de force of rhythm to Canavans, armed with a finely curated bag packed to the brim with tuffness. If his debut EP ‘Technician’ is anything to go by, expect crafted drum arrangements, ‘in-the-pocket’ basslines and proper vibe to match.

Rhythm Section team-up with Ruf Kutz for 2 room showdown

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Rhythm Section & Ruf Kutz are joining forces to bring a night of uncomplicated joy to Manchester.

We are thrilled to welcome our Vancouver friends the PENDER STREET STEPPERS to play ALL NIGHT LONG at Hidden. In the other room it’ll be a Rhythm Section International affair as CONTOURS meets HIDDEN SPHERES with BRADLEY and RUFFY going head-to-head yet again… Make sure you pack 2 pairs of Dancing Shoes!!!

THE PENDER STREET STEPPERS are no strangers to us – Bradley met them years ago when the Boiler Room went over to investigate exactly what they were putting in the water in Vancouver. He came back loaded up with tapes and USBs chock full of this new, woozy sound and plenty of stories about the maniacs behind it.

Since then, the rest of the world has cottoned on to the Mood Hut sound – and how. Finding themselves way way way up high in any chart worth its salt since they busted onto the scene with a killer PPU record a couple of years ago, the duo of Liam Butler and Jack Jutson (yes, THAT Jack J) boast a mighty record collection full of the strangest influences which lead to the originality and all around out-there-ness of their sound.

We are very excited to have them play all night long at our party, giving them a total blank canvas to smudge up all blunted and strange – make sure you get in early cos you don’t want to miss any of this. Maximum Headroom Required (and not just because they’re both tall).

And as if that wasn’t enough we are also going for a full on RS session in the other room – bringing a taste of SE15’s favourite Pool Hall to M3 as the bossman Bradley Zero and repeat offender Ruf Dug invite two of Manchester’s finest talents (and both Rhythm Section International Artists) CONTOURS and HIDDEN SPHERES to join them for a red light heads down no photos special…

Feet on the ground, heads in the clouds, 2 rooms of pure pleasure, PSS X RS X RK X MCR – we’ll see you on the dancefloor
