Last Summer, Ian Wyatt aka Local Artist aka Slow Riffs came to visit London for a few days. He stayed in Peckham for what happened to be carnival weekend. Bradley took him to Aba Shanti-I. This changed everything.
A few months later, inspired by these low end frequencies and dubwise excursions, Ian had forwarded some tracks that would become the critically successful ‘Feelings’ EP.
Ian resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, where he is part of the small team who run Mood Hut label, upon which his next release is due out imminently. We’ve been dying to welcome Local Artist to our local dance for some time, but due to geographical constraints, it hasn’t been so easy to get him here all the way from the west coast of Canada, until now….
Fast forward almost exactly one year and Ian is back in the city with a Rhythm Section International release under his belt; so what better time to welcome him for this long overdue debut at the pool hall, followed by a trip to carnival on Monday.
Chapter IV (or V?) in the Mood Hut / Rhythm Section axis is upon us – We look forward to seeing you there for some Rye Lane / Canadian Riviera Rhythms!
